Last Updated: 22 July 2025  |  Effective Date: 22 July 2025

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form an agreement between you ("User", "you") and Duit Lantern ("we", "us", "our"). By booking a session, submitting a contact form or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them before proceeding.

1. Definitions

2. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a session or using our website, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and agree to these Terms in full. If you are booking on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.

3. Service Description

Duit Lantern provides structured, educational money-facilitation sessions. Sessions are organisational and informational in nature. They are designed to help users understand their financial picture, develop practical habits and prepare questions for licensed professionals.

Important: Our sessions do not constitute regulated financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, legal advice or any form of licensed professional service. We do not recommend specific financial products. All decisions made following a session remain entirely your own responsibility.

Sessions are available in Petaling Jaya (in-person) and online via video call. We serve clients across Malaysia.

4. Booking and Payment

Cancellation and rescheduling: You may reschedule a session at no charge with at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice will not receive a refund. Where we cancel a session, you will receive a full refund or a rescheduled date at your choice. Fees are not transferable to a different person without our consent.

5. User Responsibilities

6. Intellectual Property

All session materials, templates, frameworks and website content are the intellectual property of Duit Lantern. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to use session materials for your own personal or internal business purposes only. You may not reproduce, sell or distribute session materials to third parties without our prior written consent.

7. Disclaimers

Our sessions are provided in good faith as educational and organisational facilitation. We make no representations about the completeness or accuracy of any general financial information discussed. We do not warrant that sessions will produce any particular outcome for your financial situation.

Nothing in our sessions or materials constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal or professional advice. You are encouraged to consult licensed professionals for regulated decisions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, Duit Lantern's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to our services will not exceed the session fee paid for the relevant session. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special losses.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Duit Lantern against any claims, losses or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of session materials, including any representation of session content as licensed financial advice.

10. Termination

Either party may cancel a booking in accordance with the cancellation terms in Section 4. We reserve the right to refuse or terminate a booking if a user is abusive, provides materially false information or uses our services in breach of these Terms. Clauses 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11 survive termination of this Agreement.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from these Terms will first be subject to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If unresolved within 30 days, the dispute will be referred to the courts of Malaysia, with jurisdiction in Selangor.

The parties may also agree to mediation through the Malaysian Mediation Centre before commencing court proceedings.

12. General Provisions

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active clients at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of our services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
